Late News

Just added some photo's of my latest toy - Ferguson TED20 - Fergie.

Hey folks. Just a quick update again. I have added some photo's from my latest work with Heath Consultants - Heath.

I am currently working as the In-field Manager for Heath Consultants. My job has many parts but the main one is the detection of gas leaks in both underground and aboveground pipes as well as Plants and Compounds. I do this by using either a Detecto-PakII or GMI Gas Surveyor. We also utilize other pieces of equipment including Sure-Lock (which finds the pipeline) and Garmin PDA (for all our infield data input). I also liaise with the Gas Company Representative and keep them updated. I also monitor and maintain a safe work environment for myself and the people around me. I also organize the logistics while in the field. This in itself can be very difficult as finding access to a pipeline for a vehicle can sometimes be impossible. I also do all the daily computer reports. I also do any in field repairs to equipment that may be needed.  I also do the cooking but, thank god, not the washing up.

It is a very challenging and demanding job and I am enjoying it. Just wish the money was better for all the hard work that I put in. The latest survey is from Cheepie to Barcaldine. It is a 400klm survey through some extremely tricky terrain in the far Sth West of Queensland.

Places that I have been so far include - Cobar, White Cliffs, Tibooburra, Surat, Silver Springs, Condamine, Roma, Moura, Cheepie, Adavale, Quilpie, Charleville and Blackall - just to name a few lol.

Well it has been over 12 months since I last did anything with this site. I thought I better give everyone an update and add a few pics.

After Nauru I kicked back for a few months. I bought myself a new (second hand car), a Landrover Discovery - Dizzy.
She's a real beauty and a good workhorse. She needed a bit of work and still does but mechanically she is going fine now.
I did a few odd jobs around the place, mainly computer repairs and installations, and a couple of handyman jobs.
I installed some new guttering at Calico Creek - Front and Side.
I then worked on Fraser Island for a few months at Happy Valley Wilderness Retreat - Fraser. I met some fantastic people there and the island is a truly amazing place.

I have also added a new area - F.A.A.S

Currently I am doing some casual work for Heath Consultants. I am doing gas leak surveys - Pics to come.

The Dragons Triangle by Charles Berlitz

Lost 2 friends last year....George and Lily.....I hope I see them at Rainbow Bridge one day

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that friend goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food and water and sunshine and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigour, those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing......
They miss someone very special to them who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance.
The bright eyes are intent, the eager body quivers.
Suddenly they begin to break away from the group, flying over the green grass, there legs carrying them faster and faster.
YOU have been spotted and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again.
The happy kisses rain upon your face, your hands again caress their beloved head and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your friend, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together.

Gotta love those kiwi's :)

Wiremu, a New Zealander, landed at Heathrow to watch the All Blacks and was not feeling well, so he decided to see a doctor.

"Hey doc, I don't feel so good, ey" said Wiremu. The doctor gave him a thorough examination and informed Wiremu that he had prostate problems, and that the only cure was testicular removal.

"No way doc" replied Wiremu "I'm gitting a sicond opinion ey!"

The second Pommy doctor gave Wiremu the same diagnosis and also advised him that testicular removal was the only cure.

Not surprisingly, Wiremu refused the treatment.

Wiremu was devastated but, with only hours to go before the All Blacks opening game he found an expat Kiwi doctor and decided to get one last opinion from someone he could trust.

The Kiwi doctor examined him and said "Wiremu, you have prostate sukness ey".

"What's the cure thin doc ey?" asked Wiremu hoping for a different answer.

"Wull, Wiremu", said the Kiwi doctor "Wi're gonna huv to cut off your balls."

"Phew, thunk god for thut!" said Wiremu, "those Pommy bastards wanted to take my test tickets off me!"
